I am regularly asked to summarize my many posts. I thought it would be a good idea to publish on this blog, every Monday, some of the most relevant articles that I have already shared with you on my social networks.
Today I will share some of the most relevant articles about Artificial Intelligence and in what form you can find it in today’s life. I will also comment on the articles.

Sea trials begin for artificial intelligence captain. IBM and marine research organization Promare have announced that a new artificial intelligence captain (AI Captain) will enable the Mayflower autonomous ship to self-navigate across the Atlantic later this year. AI can be used for many applications, we have started to see it with autonomous vehicle, it will be very soon available for autonomous ships. Planes could fly autonomously already… we just need to ensure we believe in the technology not to stress too much!

Artificial Intelligence to Improve the Precision of Mammograms. The study concludes that a combination of Artificial Intelligence algorithms and the interpretations of radiologists could, in the U.S. alone, result in a half million women not having to undergo unnecessary diagnostic tests every year. In my mind, AI is about human augmented. The healthcare industry will benefit from the technology as it will improve precision of diagnostics. As the article states, the combination of AI and radiologists will allow better interpretation. AI alone can help but AI and human is very powerful.
On Business-standard.com:

Genpact looks to ethical artificial intelligence to chart path ahead. Enterprises could see more positions like digital ethics officers and move towards providing transformation as a service, an area Genpact is heavily focused on. With AI continuing to play a strong role in 2020, the road ahead will be built on “augmented Intelligence” — a mix of human and machine intelligence that will give an edge to companies. Again as per the last article, augmented intelligence which is a mix of human and machine will ensure companies are stronger and better prepared for this transformation.
On Connectradio.fm:

With novel coronavirus spreading throughout the United States and the world, researchers are turning to social media and artificial intelligence to track the virus as it spreads. AI can handle billions of data that no human brain can manage. This is why the use of AI with humans can help track coronavirus outbreak and hopefully find a cure. In any case the use of AI will allow preventing the next outbreak.

Alibaba’s new 96% accurate AI could save the world from coronavirus
Alibaba’s new AI can detect the coronavirus with 96% accuracy, and is being rolled out to 100 facilities. A new artificial intelligence has been developed to combat the coronavirus outbreak, and the company behind it has claimed that it can detect the virus with 96% accuracy. Alibaba (the Chinese version of Amazon), has many different ventures and this one is about AI. In these reports, this AI has been trained on 5,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and can now detect the difference between ordinary viral pneumonia and COVID-19 infections in humans with 96% accuracy. This newly developed AI could be the savior the world needs to accurately detect the infected, which is the main problem with the coronavirus.

Automatic image recognition is widely used today: There are computer programs that can reliably diagnose skin cancer, navigate self-driving cars, or control robots. Up to now, all this has been based on the evaluation of image data as delivered by normal cameras – and that is time-consuming. Especially when the number of images recorded per second is high, a large volume of data is generated that can hardly be handled. AI can help manage such high number of data and this is why such technology will transform the way we think and act.
